Year round attractions make our Russian River location an ideal getaway!
Monte Rio Beach is a three-minute walk from the Inn where canoes and kayaks all season long. Located on a large bend of the River, the beach stretches along the sunny side on both sides of the Monte Rio Bridge.
Monte Rio is home to the iconic Rio Theater, one of the few remaining quonset hut movie theaters left in the county, and to a live theater performing group known as the Curtain Call Theater.
Over 125 Russian River wineries, most within a half hour drive from the Inn are spread through beautiful Sonoma wine country. According to their website, Wine Road is not actually a “road” in the sense of a single, continuous stretch of paved highway, but more of a treasure map to the many jewels nestled among the hills and valleys of a region.
Armstrong Redwoods State National Reserve is wooded grove that is located 6 miles from the Village Inn. It is a living reminder of the magnificent primeval redwood forest that covered much of this area before logging operations began during the 19th century. The reserve includes a visitor center, large outdoor amphitheater, self-guided nature trails, and a variety of picnic facilities. Be sure to drive to the top above the redwood line to enjoy the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.
Northwood Golf Course. Ranked #3 in the nation for 9-hole courses, Northwood Golf Course combines the magic of the architecture of Alister MacKenzie set amidst towering Redwood trees.
Sonoma Coast State Park one of California’s most scenic attractions. A series of beaches separated by rock bluffs and headlands extends 17 miles from Bodega Head to Vista Trail located 4 miles north of Jenner. Beachcombers, fishermen, sunbathers and picnickers can access the beach from more than a dozen points along coast Highway 1.
